We were up at 8 am as we had food to prepare for the party. I had previously cooked a dinner for 30 in my camper, so a fruit salad and home fries seemed easy. We worked as a team and were able to get done on time. We arrived at the party with the potatoes mostly cooked and the fruit salad put together at 11:30 am. Hugs and greetings were shared with cousins, siblings and children. Val had accomplished her usual precision in the planning. The theme was Avett brothers, an American folk rock band that Qwynn loves (rumor has it that next years theme is Tom Petty). Tyson's mom, Linda, had picked up the balloons and Val had brought the rest of the decorations with her on the plane. Nephew Brad and wife Anne Marie were the hosts. The food was served pot luck and was very delicious. Qwynn loved interacting with her 5 cousins and Alwyn looked on with excitement. Most of the group broke up by 3 pm and we stayed until around 4:30. We headed to look for a post office and took an unexpected tour through the downtown of Gilbert, AZ-very quaint. We joined Val, Tyson and friends for a BBQ supper (after the women made a run to Whole Foods for meat and sides.) and the NFC championship game. (Several friends were rooting for the Vikings). We enjoyed our visit and were back to camp about 9:30 pm. Too late for the generator but thankfully charging the battery by using the truck connection worked to give us enough power to get through the night. Only 42 degrees tonight. We are still blessed to have a toasty place to sleep. Joe has yet to see a 70 degree day. Sleep came around midnight.
